Passage 4:
The Widow’s Offering 41Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. 43Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.” This poor widow gave more of her savings then all of the people offered, Jesus saw the widow give her savings so the other people put in more but truly the widow gave more then others could have. this shows me the kind how kind she was and this lady hardly had any and she could use on yourself. If only people were this kind hearted now. This makes me sad, happy, and kind hearted. How does the following passage relate to your actions of community service.
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,f you did it to me.’ This story connects to the community service because people are still staving and need care from one another. It said when you give people something you give something to yourself. This story helps people give something that you wouldn't give poor people. It makes you think that a person can be like a saint like god and like Jesus. it makes you feel like there's a goodness inside any anyone of us.
Rotary does a lot for the community, some dinners, building proper burials and family markets so they raise it. the rotary does so much for Sunbury so why don't we help out too. They build better burials for people that have died. they make meals for people that are sick all can't cook. When they do family markets money goes to the poor from what they sell. they also support red cross, they set up shops and sell basically anything they can get rid of. Helping rotary is fundraising and helping people in Sunbury and not only that but helping across the globe. they also help the sick from royal children's hospital. You could have friendship with others fun, entertainment and most of all just making a person put a smile on their face. Just imagine what if nobody helped you, put yourself in their shoes, so why don't we make a difference together.
