Passage 4: The Widow’s Offering 41Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. 43Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.” This passage is about giving and putting others first and your self second its also about putting your self out there and helping others. This is all so about a rich lady who gave lots of money and a poor widow lady who gave little but has treasured it more. morning tea at churchFor social justice a group of people went to a mass and we baked some food for the end of the mass so they could have some with there tea.
I thought this was a good experience to go too church and talk too new people at the end of the mass and chat with them. I also thought it was a good experience to put time and effort in too baking something. It was really fun and interesting to go up too people and say hello and talk too them. I also thought they enjoyed the food and I thought they liked having visters to talk too them. Passage 2: Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand 10When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus what they had done. Then he took them with him and they withdrew by themselves to a town called Bethsaida, 11but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing. 12Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said, “Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.” 13He replied, “You give them something to eat.” They answered, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish—unless we go and buy food for all this crowd.” 14(About five thousand men were there.) But he said to his disciples, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.” 15The disciples did so, and everyone sat down. 16Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. 17They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left I think going to the retirement village will be interesting because you get to talk to them and find out about them I also think it will be fun because you get to play games. I think this will be a good experience because you get to meet new people and learn more things. I think it will be good for them to have a vister and it would be good for them to meet new people and have a chat and to play games with.
this relates to our inquiry unit because its about people helping and its about community servies.this is telling you that the people were kind and help the poor when they had no food or cloths and gave the naked food and cloths.
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,f you did it to me.’
“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”
This tells you not too sit around and wait for something it tells you not to wait for good things too happen too you it tells you to get up and make them happen.
